Prayer Calendar February – March 2021

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish.
And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

In February the Jewish people will celebrate Purim, the holiday centered on the Jewish people being rescued from the evil man Haman. In the verse above, Mordechai is speaking to Esther. Mordechai is convinced that God will save the Jewish people. He also believes that God can use Esther to do this, but that He does not rely on Esther. This is still the case. God uses people to help and to save Israel, but if these people fail or are out of the picture it does not mean that the salvation and protection are gone as well. Although God does not rely on our prayers in His governing of the earth, we learn from the Bible and from experience that prayer is extremely important and powerful. So in the coming months let us pray for God’s protection of Israel.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
