Demonic A-B-C
“When He arrived at the other side [of the River Jordan] in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met Him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have You come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matthew 8:28-29).
Letters from Hell
In his famous book “The Screwtape Letters” (Letters from Hell) – February 1942 – C.S. Lewis describes how an experienced fat old devil tries to teach a young demon through an exchange of letters how a newly converted Christian can be tempted to turn back from this “error” so that this young Christian will give up his Christianity. Diabolical techniques and tactics! This original literary style form – a correspondence, an exchange of letters – is used by C. S. Lewis to show how the powers of darkness move!
“These dark powers, demons, know the Bible – and they fear the Word of God”
It seemed a good idea to me to use an imaginative ‘plan of action’ by demonic forces to try to make clear what the powers of darkness are planning today when it comes to ISRAEL. A demonic plan A, B and C! These dark powers, demons, know the Bible – and they fear the Word of God. These verses quoted from Matthew 8:28-29 show that the demons are aware that there will come a time in the future that their role is finished and their torture will come – and that the “Son of God” has everything to do with that. The only thing they did not know is when. So they say to Jesus is: “Have we misinterpreted the Bible that much that this ultimate torture will already happen NOW – “before the appointed time?” And they are right. Not yet. So Jesus gives them permission. Matthew 8: 30:32: “Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.” Into the pool of water. Not yet into the lake of fire.
In Luke 8:26-39 we find a similar event taking place. There the demons beg to not be thrown into the Abyss. This Greek word that obviously points at a place of torture for fallen angels and demons, is mentioned in the New Testament eight times: here in Luke , and seven times in the Book of Revelation: 9:1,2 and 11; 11:7; 17:8 and 20: 1 and 3. In the coming era the devils will be thrown into the lake of fire.
Well, if I were a “power of darkness” and knew that I ultimately would face eternal torture in this pool burning with fire and brimstone, then I would try everything to make sure that this would NOT happen. And if I couldn’t prevent it all together, then I would try and postpone it as much as possible! So the demons turn to the promises the angel Gabriel gave to Mary, the mother of Jesus. And they think: what can we do to block or postpone the fulfillment of these prophetic promises!
Gabriel
The angel Gabriel promised two things to Mary in Luke 1:30-33 “… the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.”
Gabriel promised two things: Mary would become the mother of a holy child of whom God would be the Father and she would be His mother. A holy child that as an immaculate Lamb of God would carry away the sins of the world at the cross. The ultimate sacrifice for sin. The Word of God, the eternal Torah would become flesh and would live amongst the people of Israel. The miracle of the virgin birth, celebrated full of gratitude by the Christian world every year during the time of Christmas. So promise number one was literally fulfilled. The virgin birth.
But Gabriel promised something else as well: this holy child, Son of the Most High, would sit on the throne of His father David – and that throne stood in Jerusalem – and He would rule in the midst of Jacob = ISRAEL, meaning the ten tribes of Israel + the two tribes of Judah, so the twelve tribes of Israel. And of His kingdom there shall be no end.
The coming of His Kingdom would thus mean the end of the reign of the demons, the evil spirits, the powers of darkness, yes, the devil himself. They would ultimately be thrown into the lake of fire and be tortured in all eternity. Matthew 25:41: “…into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” And Revelation 20:10: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
Now, what to do if you are such a ‘power of darkness’ and you want to postpone your awful fate as long as possible, or maybe even make it impossible to happen? So they look closely into the promises that the angel Gabriel gave to mother Mary. And develop demonic plans to obstruct these promises!
“Plan A will be: Let’s wipe out “Jacob” = Israel completely! Destroy them all!”
Plan A
What did Gabriel promise? “…and He will rule over the house of Jacob eternally…”. So, my demonic Plan A will be: Let’s wipe out “Jacob” = Israel completely! Destroy them all! Then there is no “Jacob” left, and Jesus can’t come to rule as King over the house of Jacob and establish His Kingdom of peace and justice! From the beginning, even at the birth of the Jewish nation – and through all the ages – it was attempted to exterminate all of Israel. With the Holocaust as a climax. Antisemitism, shrouded in many coats and disguises. Shrouded in Christian robes or in Nazi uniform. Islamic tinted or colored humanistic non-religiously. Left, right or center politically motivated: the powers of darkness don’t care which motives lead to hatred of the Jews and their ultimate annihilation. Religious or non-religious. As long as the final result would be: hate and destruction of the Jewish people and Israel. You can compare statements by Hitler and present-day hate-speeches by spiritual leaders from Iran or other parts in the world. Just kill them all! The slogan of HAMAS is: On Saturday (Sabbath) we will grab the Jews, and on Sunday (the Christian holy day) we will grab the Christians. But it won’t work. Because the Creator of heaven and earth Himself guarantees the existence of Israel. There will always be a sacred remnant. Jeremiah 31:35-36 says: “This is what the Lord says, He who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the Lord Almighty is His name: “Only if these decrees vanish from My sight,” declares the Lord, “will Israel ever cease being a nation before Me.” The creator says: as long as the universe exists, the rhythm of night and day, the laws of nature (rather: the institutions of Creation) function: that long Israel will exist. There always will be Israel. Forever. Only when this universe and planet earth will cease to exist, only then will Israel no longer to be a nation before Me, says the Lord God Almighty.
But, cannot He reject Israel because of all the wrongs she sometimes does? Because of their unbelief? Because of their disobedience sometimes? Jeremiah 31:37 says: “This is what the Lord says: “Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done,” declares the Lord.” Only when we were capable to fathom and understand and follow His intelligence in the universe, the macrocosm and in the realm of atoms, particles, rays, magnetic forces, in the microcosm, will God reject Israel for what wrongdoings they have done. We never can fully understand the intelligence and powers that rule the Universe and life itself. The more we discover the more we understand that we have only scratched the surface. And the bigger the question marks become! The more we discover about the universe and of the tiniest elementary building blocks of the material reality and its wave lengths, the bigger the question marks become, so say scientists tell us. Only if would be able to follow His intelligence in Creation – and we never can – only then will He reject Israel for all they have done, says the Lord. So, He never will. Not even for what they sometimes have done.
Plan B
Right, Plan A doesn’t work. Although we will try to do so until our dying day! Wipe them off the map! “From the River (Jordan) to the (Mediterranean) Sea, Palestine shall be free!” Made Judenrein! It will not work, but still… Then on to Plan B!
What did Gabriel promise? “…The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David…” Where stood the throne of father David? In Jerusalem. There He would rule in the midst of the house of Jacob = Israel. By the way, Gabriel formulates very carefully: Jacob. He doesn’t say: Israel, because that could lead to the misunderstanding that it only would involve the ten tribes of “Israel” and not also the two tribes of “Juda” as well. But father Jacob means: all twelve tribes, all the twelve sons of Jacob, the twelve tribes of Israel. Alright.
“A next Arab Muslim state: the Two-State solution – And name this new state: Palestine! Wonderful Plan B!”
But you know what? We will chop the Promised Land up: chop off Gaza, chop off the West Bank of the Jordan River (the East Bank that also belonged to the Promised Land – the tribes of Reuben, Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh lived there – has already been already chopped off: this ‘Transjordan’ is now already called Jordan! No longer part of the Promised Land! And while we are at it let’s also chop off the Golan Heights – the Biblical Basan that is also part of the Promised Land – and let’s split the city of Jerusalem in two: East and West Jerusalem. Then we paste all these pieces together and form it into the next Arab Muslim state: the Two-State solution – for the time being, but the ultimate goal of course is the whole of Israel to become Palestine! And we make (East) Jerusalem the capital of this new Arab Muslim state! And name this new state: Palestine! Wonderful Plan B!
We then also have a beautiful side-effect: we control two important mountains. The Mount of Olives and also Mount Zion, the Temple Mount. Then it is out of the question that Jesus can return on the Mount of Olives to subsequently sit on the throne of His father David in Jerusalem. Because that doesn’t belong to “Jacob” anymore, but it is Arab territory! And a final Temple will never come into existence, because we already have two or three mosques there, on that Temple Mount! We already managed to come to the decision of the United Nations that this Mountain will no longer be called the Temple Mount, but that it will be named by its Arabic name Haram Al Sharif, indicating that there never was and never will be a Jewish Temple. If we as demons can manage that, we delay our ‘torture in the lake of fire’ for at least many years! And the nations (United Nations and Europe) seem to fall for our demonic trap. Although the Most High has Promised His Land Israel to the chosen people and it is clearly against His will to establish another non-Jewish state in that Promised Land.

Joel 3:1-2 says: “In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to My inheritance, My people Israel, because they scattered My people among the nations and divided up My land…”
The conflict in the Middle East has a profound spiritual background. It is a battle between the God of Israel, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and all other “gods”, powers of darkness, forces, authorities et cetera. Ephesians 6:12: “… For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms…”
“This is our Plan C. Let the Church continue to sleep. So that the Church will not bow down and will not deploy the formidable power of prayer in the Name of Jesus”
Plan C
And in all of this: let’s throw a lot of sand into the eyes of Christianity, so that they have eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear. This is our Plan C. Let the Church continue to sleep. Let them continue in their age-old theories and theologies, believing that they replaced Israel as God’s chosen people. Let the Church do business as usual. So that the Church will not get the faintest idea of what is happening before her very eyes. So that the Church will not bow down and will not start praying in the Name of Jesus against these wicked plans. So that she will not deploy the formidable power of prayer, start calling upon the Name of Jesus in this spiritual battle (Isaiah 62-63:7) and start speaking prophetically to the authorities and governments of this world. To the members of the European Parliament. To the members of the United Nations.
Let’s wake up. Let us give the Most High no rest. He Himself says in Isaiah 62:6-7: “I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”

Plan A, B and C, they will ultimately not succeed. Because the Lord Himself will fulfil all promises made to Israel. Just as He will fulfil all promises made to His Church. However, we must not make it an unholy theological mix of the two as has happened so many times in the history of the Church. And let us keep our eyes wide open, so that we can say with Paul the words from 2 Corinthians 2:11 “… in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes…”
