First Pesach in the First Home

“During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested.” (Exodus 12:31).

At this turbulent time of the new big aliyah when thousands of Jews arrive here for the sake of freedom it is highly important to adhere to the traditions in order to feel the sense of belonging to the great nation.

Now on the eve of Passover (Pesach), it is high time for all the necessary preparations and learning more about its customs and history.

For many of our families it is going to be their first Pesach in Israel. So, we should provide them with useful knowledge about the holiday through Exodus talks, prayers, and study. We do our best to make them feel part of the Jewish people who once left Egypt for the Promised Land.

During the pre-vacation week they are not only mastering Hebrew in Ulpan but also learning many interesting facts about this “Holiday of freedom”, share the festive meals and prepare for their First Seder Pesach here.
