First Home in the Homeland – update June 2018
Shalom dear Friends, as promised we update you about our latest news from the Eshkol region. Yesterday (June 18, 2018) firemen of the regional council were confronted with 12 fire accidents caused by fire kites and balloons. During these tough times the President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin met with children and parents from Eshkol. Among them were also participants of the First Home in the Homeland program. Remember the kindergarten in the kibbutz Ein Ashlosha that was hit by a rocket? A participant of the program Irina, who made aliya from Ukraine a year ago, rushed into the building just on time when the rocket fell into the kindergarten yard.
Here you can hear and see President Rivlin calling the children of Eshkol. First he’s talking to the kindergarten teacher Tova and then to all the children, wishing them a peaceful day full of joy, playing with friends and learning new things. Then he invites all the children to visit him in Jerusalem!
And here you see that the children from kindergarten Shibbolim from Ein Ashlosha accepted the invitation and came to Jerusalem to meet with Mr. President Rivlin! Among the children are Shapiro Roza, Razin Stepan, Tzigman Rosalina, originally from Ukraine, Derunov Sofia, originally from Belarus, Vasiliev Anya and Mazennikov Lev originally from Russia. All of them made aliyah via the First Home program. Hope that they will have a joyful childhood with less stress and more happy moments!
“I promise you, that soon kites will bring us joy and not fear”, – said President Rivlin.
Thank you for standing with us,
Best wishes,
