Christians for Israel UK Welcomes a Fresh Vision

The activities of Christians for Israel have expanded to almost forty countries. The United Kingdom was one of the first countries where Christians for Israel was established.

Some twenty years ago, conferences were being organised and the Israel & Christians Today UK newspaper was being published. The number of subscribers increased rapidly to 400, with an extra 1,500 copies printed for distribution into churches. The first pioneers who set up the UK branch have left, and conferences have not been held for some years. However, this situation changed last year. James Patrick, an Oxford theologian, was approached by Christians for Israel and was impressed with our biblical vision on Israel and our mission. He recognised a close resemblance between his biblical understanding and the vision which Christians for Israel is spreading. James says: “I was born in Papua New Guinea. I came to the UK for university study in 2000, and became acquainted with the Jewish community. I am now actively involved in both Christian and Jewish communities. I have chosen to remain single to be more effective in the work which I feel God has called me to.”

James completed bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in biblical studies in Cambridge and Oxford. He is connected to an extended network of theologians, pastors and church leaders. In a recent Israel & Christians Today (UK edition) James wrote: “I am keen to meet up with church leaders and teachers, whatever their political views about the Middle East, to discuss how the Bible can shape our beliefs and actions.”

Last year, James was officially appointed as our National Representative. We are very happy and thankful that the Lord provided a new and inspired representative in the UK. He has already written a few excellent articles in the recently launched UK edition of our newspaper.
