Hezbollah continued to violate the so-called ceasefire.

Tal Hartuv - 5 December 2024

Hezbollah continued to violate the so-called ceasefire by launching rockets at the Israeli army base on Mount Hermon. As promised, the provocation was met with a rapid and strong response when the IDF targeted over 30 more terrorist strongholds deep in the heart of Lebanon. Jets were heard all over Israel when aircraft attacked several enemy rocket launchers identified by drones, not just in the north but also in Gaza, as the Air Force senior terrorists of Hamas in Khan Yunis.

Israel’s right to defend herself was met with mixed messages by the Biden administration who on one hand reprimanded the Jewish state, and on the other, issued a statement that their own American intelligence estimates that terrorist organizations continue to restore their strength and capabilities.

Following the frustrating statement, President-elect Donald Trump issued a direct threat to Hamas to release the hostages before he assumes power. His words were widely welcomed by the Israeli public whether they lean to the Right or to the Left. Knesset members from nearly all political parties expressed relief and gratitude on their personal social media. In addition, Donald Trump even appointed a Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs.

Following these two steps by the incoming American administration, families of those held hostage were interviewed on Israeli media. Most touchingly, some openly wept live on air, and expressed that for over a year, unfathomably nothing whatsoever has been done for their loved ones by either the Red Cross, the United Nations or any other international humanitarian organization. While the war is not over by any means, the news brought in some hope for an end to it, for the first time in over a year.
