Julia from Charkov – Please pray for her future aliyah!

Natalia Krizhanovski - 20 March 2018

When you sow something, you do not always know exactly when it comes up. That was also the case in the next story.

Three years ago we spoke in a church in Kharkov about G’d’s plan for the Jewish people and what is written in the Bible about the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel. At the end of the meeting we always ask if there is someone who, practically and in prayer, would want to be of significance to the Jewish community. We then ask people to come forward, so we can pray for them.

One day I was called by a man who had attended the church service in Kharkov. He had met a young Jewish woman of 30 years, who lives in a retirement home. Her name is Julia. The man said that Julia had been ceded by her mother immediately after her birth. She spent her entire childhood in children’s homes. Because of this Julia has not learned to live independently. That’s why she now lives in a retirement home. We went to visit Julia in the retirement home in Kharkov and then also heard the story about her mother. Julia’s mother was married for the second time at the time she was pregnant with Julia. From her first marriage she already had two sons. During her pregnancy, her second husband discovered that she was Jewish. This discovery prompted her second husband to leave her. Because of this situation the mother decided to give her daughter away after birth.

It was a miracle that we found Julia’s birth certificate, where is written that her mother is Jewish. What also turned out is that the mother had made aliyah more than 10 years ago with her two sons and is now deceased in Israel. Julia tried to make contact with her brothers, but they were not open for this. Before Julia contacted the brothers, they did not know about her existence. After Julia indicated that she would like to go to Israel, we visited the Israeli consul to have her documents checked. The consul has indicated that there is no reason why she could not go to Israel.

We want to ask you to pray for the situation of Julia. We now have to see if she is capable of living independently in Israel or that she needs special arrangements.

“Please pray that Julia may succeed in making aliyah and will find a place of her own in the Holy Land.” More

Ezekiel 39 : 28 “Then they will know that I am the Lord their God, for though I sent them into exile among the nations, I will gather them to their own land, not leaving any behind.”

Isaiah 49 : 14-16 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Very special verses that fittingly apply to Julia’s story.
