Emergency appeal: inhabitants southern Israel

Last weekend, Israel suffered greatly from one of the worst rocket attacks from Gaza in recent years –by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. More than 600 rockets were fired at random at Israeli civilian targets around the Gaza Strip in just two days. Four people were killed and dozens wounded. The Israeli army reacted with targeted bombing of terrorist targets in Gaza.

Through our partner organisations in Israel we want to provide first aid to families in southern Israel who are directly affected by the rockets. In addition, we hope to be able to contribute to the reconstruction and protection of the population of southern Israel. This first aid and reconstruction costs a lot of money. As Christians for Israel, we would like to contribute at least 100,000 US dollars. Will you help?

Fragile ceasefire

Since 4.30 this morning, a fragile ceasefire has been in force. The schools in southern Israel are opening today. But everyone is tense –will the ceasefire hold? Unfortunately, the past has shown that ceasefires with Hamas are temporary. Time and again, Hamas’ hatred of the Jewish State of Israel flares up. Israel needs to be prepared for more attacks. It is essential that the possibly brief window provided by this ceasefire is used to implement measures to protect Israel’s citizens in the south of the country.

Pray for the families of the victims and the wounded. Pray that the ceasefire will be maintained in order that innocent men, women and children in southern Israel and Gaza can live in peace.More
