Тайны Израиля (2): пришествие Царства

Преп. Хенк Поот
Not only the two disciples from Emmaus, but other characters of the Gospel make it clear that the restoration of Israel was possible only with the coming of the Messiah. When the first disciples gathered around Jesus, Nathanael of Cana welcomes him using the title “King of the Jews.” The hymn of the mother of Jesus speaks of the expectations that her Son will overthrow the strong from their thrones and completely renew Israeli society. His uncle, the priest Zechariah, prophesies that God “raised up the throne of salvation to us in the house of David … that will save us from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us”, so that in the end Israel could serve God in freedom and peace under the guidance of the Messiah. You do not need to understand this in a spiritual sense, and apply all this to the Church. Of course, this may actually happen, contrary to the original plan. Of course, first and foremost, the atonement of Israel has a spiritual aspect. The prophets spoke clearly about this: the deliverance of Israel concerns its cleansing from sins, and its will regarding turning to God in love and devotion. But this internal deliverance goes hand in hand with the external liberation of the Jewish people. The Messiah will sit on the throne in Jerusalem. He will complete the return of the Israeli diaspora, and even restore the gap between Jude and other tribes. Also at this time, the lost tribes will be found and returned home. Using the image of the good shepherd in the book of Ezekiel, Jesus points to Himself in Heb. from John 10 to the chapter: “I have other sheep that are not of this court, and I should bring those: and they will hear My voice, and there will be one flock and one Shepherd” (John 10:16 and Ezek. 37:24 ). In his conversation with the disciples on the Mount of Olives, Jesus says,
The disciples’ last question was not a question: “When can we go to heaven after you?” They were more interested in: “When will you return to restore the
kingdom of Israel?” They ask this question after a forty-day period of instructions from the best Preacher and Teacher, who knew the world. They cannot be blamed for the
fact that their future expectations were wrong, too nationalistic or mundane. They only needed to understand how important the death of Jesus is in the light of these questions.
